Mealime's latest App Store notes say it plainly: Mealime is shutting down on October 21, 2026. As a farewell, Pro is free for everyone until then, and Pro subscriptions will not renew. (Full disclosure: SomeYum is our app.)
Before October 21
- Keep the recipes you cook on repeat. Open each one and copy the ingredients and steps somewhere you control.
- Write down your settings: the foods you avoid and how many people you cook for.
- Copy your grocery staples into your notes before the app goes.
What you'll want again
A plan for the week, a grocery list built from it, and recipes that respect what you don't eat. SomeYum does all three, from a different starting point.
How SomeYum covers the same week
- Pick dinners by swiping. Right on what you'd eat, left on what you wouldn't; the deck learns from both.
- Fill the week in one tap. “Fill my week” puts a dinner on every open day, shorter ones on weekdays.
- The grocery list comes from the plan. Tick the dinners you're cooking and the list collects their ingredients.
- What you don't eat stays out. Foods you avoid are left out of the deck and the plan.
- Your own recipes come along. Write down a recipe you already cook and it gets the plan, the list and Cook Mode, like ours.
- Cooking for two? Pair with your partner to share the plan and the list, and decide dinner together.
What's different
SomeYum starts from a decision rather than a catalog: you swipe, and the week fills from what you liked. There's no account to create. It's free to start, and CravePass removes the daily limits.
