Agreement to Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of SomeYum's mobile app, web app, and related services (the "Service"), operated by SomeYum ("we," "us," or "our"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

1. Eligibility

By using SomeYum, you confirm that you are at least 16 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent where you live, and at least 13), and that you can form a binding contract.

2. What SomeYum Does

SomeYum helps you decide what to eat by:

  • Letting you swipe through AI-generated dish suggestions
  • Generating recipes and cooking ideas with AI
  • Saving recipes and building meal plans and grocery lists
  • Offering a "spin the wheel" decision helper

The app works without an account - preferences are tied to an anonymous identifier on your device.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service
  • Use bots or automated scripts to scrape or abuse the Service
  • Upload malicious code, or harass or harm others

We may suspend or limit access if you violate these Terms.

4. Subscriptions (CravePass)

SomeYum is free to use with daily limits. CravePass unlocks unlimited use and premium features.

  • Pricing: $4.99 / month or $29.99 / year (prices may vary by region and are shown at purchase).
  • Auto-renewal: CravePass is an auto-renewing subscription. It renews automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. Your payment method is charged at confirmation and at each renewal.
  • iOS purchases are processed by Apple through your App Store account. Manage or cancel anytime in Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions. Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies.
  • Web purchases are processed by Dodo Payments. You can cancel or request help by contacting us (§12).
  • Cancellation stops future renewals; you keep premium access until the end of the current period. We don't provide prorated refunds for partial periods except where required by law.
  • EU/UK consumers: you may have a statutory right to withdraw within 14 days of purchase, subject to applicable conditions.

We may change subscription pricing or features prospectively; we'll give notice where required, and changes won't affect a period you've already paid for.

5. Recipes Are AI-Generated - Important Safety Notice

Recipes, ingredients, quantities, cooking steps, and any nutritional or dietary information in SomeYum are generated by artificial intelligence and are provided for general informational purposes only. They may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsafe.

You are responsible for using your own judgment. In particular, you should:

  • Verify allergens and ingredient safety before cooking or eating - do not rely on the app's dietary/avoid-list filtering to keep you safe from allergens
  • Follow safe food-handling and cooking practices
  • Consult a qualified professional for medical, allergy, or dietary advice

SomeYum is not a source of medical, nutritional, or health advice.

6. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content (excluding AI-generated output and your content) belong to SomeYum and are protected by law. You may save and use recipes for your personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, resell, or redistribute the Service.

By submitting feedback, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use it to operate and improve the Service.

7. Third-Party Services

The Service relies on and may link to third parties (e.g. Apple, Google, payment processors, image providers). We are not responsible for their content or practices. Your use of them is governed by their own terms and policies. See our Privacy Policy for the providers we use.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that AI output will be accurate or suitable. Your use is at your own risk.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SomeYum will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from: your use of (or inability to use) the Service; reliance on AI-generated recipes or information; or any unauthorized access to your data. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SomeYum and its operators from claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

11. Changes to the Service or Terms

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We may update these Terms; for material changes we'll notify you in the app or update the Effective Date. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ukraine, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any disputes will be resolved by the competent courts of Ukraine, unless mandatory consumer-protection law in your country of residence grants you the right to bring proceedings locally.

13. Severability & Entire Agreement

If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. These Terms and our Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and SomeYum regarding the Service.
